This is one of the most popular choices for garage/workshop floors. Durable, easy to clean and simple to maintain. Seath Industries epoxy coatings are applied by first grinding the concrete to remove contaminants and open up the surface to allow the best adhesion possible. We then fix any cracks or blemishes in the concrete. Next we apply a primer to the surface followed by two coats of 100% solids epoxy and then apply one or two clear coats to protect colour from yellowing and give the floor a deeper shine. If non slip is required we can broadcast a non slip additive into the paint to achieve the slip resistance you require (please note: this could make cleaning more difficult).
Polished concrete is becoming a popular flooring choice for industrial, commercial and residential premises due to its high durability, aesthetic appeal and easy to clean surface. Polished concrete is produced by grinding the concrete surface with diamonds to expose the aggregate. This can be done on both new and old concrete. Seath Industries offers the ‘full polished concrete system’ which involves using a series of grinding diamonds, then resins which start off coarse and get finer until the desired shine is achieved. This system does not require a coating, just a penetrating sealer to reduce staining which means this system is the most durable. We also offer a cheaper option called ‘grind and seal’. This is where we grind the concrete to achieve the look required and a coating is applied which gives you the polished concrete look. This system looks as good as polished concrete but as is has a coating it may require future maintenance. This system is often used in cafes and restaurants as it has a topical sealer which is 100% impervious to stains. There are a lot of factors to consider with polished concrete such as how much aggregate/stone show you want, the condition of your concrete and whether you want full polished concrete or grind and seal. We would work with you to determine the system that best suits your needs and budget. We also offer polished concrete options for outdoor areas, please contact us to discuss this further.
Flake Floors
Seath Industries is experienced in applying flake flooring. Flake flooring is a decorative flooring solution which incorporates paint flakes in epoxy and polyurethane floor systems. This is an excellent option for enhancing dull old cracked concrete and giving it a new lease on life. Flake is a non slip seamless surface which will not harbour bacteria, is UV resistant, has high resistance to wearing and comes in just about any colour combination you can think of. This is a great choice if you want something a bit more exciting than just a grey concrete surface. Flake flooring could be used on garage floors, workshop floors, patios, showrooms and many more locations. Below are just a few of the most popular flake varieties available to you. We have many more samples which we can bring out and show you if this is the flooring option you are considering.
Concrete Grinding/Floor Preparation
Seath Industries has all the equipment to carry out concrete grinding and floor preparation jobs. We have small hand grinders through to large planetary grinders all with dust extraction. Concrete Grinding/Floor Preparation is often performed in a commercial space for shop fitouts or end of lease. This is typically done to remove existing coatings or glue removal from carpet. Once the grinding has been completed you will have a flat fresh surface ready for any new flooring choice.
Expansion Joint Sealing/Caulking
This is the process of sealing a gap between two surfaces and is vital for clients who need to protect their floor from the ingress of water, chemicals or other substances to stop them from seeping into the foundations causing the sub-base to be contaminated or washed away resulting in concrete cracking and failing. Seath Industries has experience in a vast array of joint sealing applications from concrete slabs, swimming pools, tanks and other water retaining structures. We can apply silicone, polyurethane and epoxy semi rigid joint sealants.
Concrete Repairs/Joint Edge Repairs
Seath Industries is experienced in concrete repairs using epoxy and cement based grouts. We can carry out concrete cancer repairs using our experience or under the guidance of an engineer if required. Seath Industries specialises in warehouse floor repairs. It is important to get on top of any cracks, holes and concrete spalling promptly as they will only increase in size if left unattended posing a health and safety risk to workers. By getting your concrete repairs carried out in a timely manner this can also reduce maintenance costs on your machinery and equipment such as forklifts etc. Seath Industries also offers a semi rigid joint sealant. This semi rigid joint sealant will give you a smooth transition over expansion joints. This will further reduce your maintenance due to supporting the edge of the joint and will also reduce noise in the warehouse. In the long term concrete repair will save you time and money. With our high level of expertise Seath Industries will provide a concrete repair solution to suit your needs. We also carry out concrete and crack repairs on residential driveways and concrete floors.
Seath Industries has the tools and equipment to cut and remove concrete. We can cut concrete up to 150 millimetres. We use a wet vac and sediment bund to clean up and dispose of concrete slurry and leave a clean tidy area.
Spray Paving
Spraypave resurfacing is a process using a polymer cement coating that has been specifically designed and formulated to be applied over any concrete surface. This can be used on both old and new concrete to create a non slip hardwearing decorative finish. Our spray on coatings bond extremely well to existing concrete. Spray paving can be applied to a wide variety of areas including driveways, carparks, courtyards and paths etc.
